As a conservation management method, the adoptive reuse approach is practiced in this project by rejuvenating the existing tea factory function while incorporating additional facilities. The Tourism Facility Centre is placed a considerable distance away from the up-cycled tea factory to respect the old structure, but linked by a cultural gallery. This transition space is deliberately formed as a subtle linear design at 1/3 height of the factory in order to respect the value of the 100+ year old structure. Use of materials specifically glass and gold-plated steels and changes made in colours have been intricately applied as conservation techniques to compliment the old structure.
